Q:How hard is it to come into Canada with my rifle and gear and take my trophy home?

A: If your prepared its really simple.. You will need a valid passport, You will also have to purchase a permit ($25.00CDN) to bring firearms into Canada. It is recommended to fill out the permit form in advance by downloading it by visiting the Canadian Firearms Centre at www.cfc.gc.ca or by calling 1-800-731-4000. After scoring your monsters antlers we cape, freeze and crate your trophy along with your prepared export permit.

 

Q: Is this hunt high fenced or not?

Our trophy whitetail and elk hunts are in a high fence preserve on 1000+ acres of untamed boreal forest and farmland offering a challenging hunt in prosperous and rich habitat. Our free range whitetail and bear hunts span 24, 000 acres of privately owned hunting grounds.

 

Q: How long have you been doing this?

A: True North Trophy hunts opened its preserve in 2005, we have been professional outfitters operating our free range hunts for the past 15 years.

 

Q: What if I have special dietary needs?

A: Our food is prepared fresh daily at the lodge and we are pleased to meet special needs to the best of our ability. Let us know when booking so we can be prepared.

 

Q: Can I be guaranteed a 200 inch buck?

A: No, but a high percentage of the bucks our clients harvest every year on the ranch will score between 200 and 250 SCI. 

 

Q: What happens if I don't shoot a buck after 4 days?

A: We offer a 100% satisfaction gaurentee, if you did not experience the opportunity to harvest a buck that would score between 170 and 250 SCI. We will invite you to return to hunt with us again free of charge until your trophy has become a reality.

 

Q: What happens if I shoot a deer that scores under 160 SCI either by miscalculating the buck?

A:  We only have one hunt price for hunting in our preserve, however if you harvest a buck that scores less than 160, you will have the option to harvest another deer at a 50% discount. 

 

Q: Does the hunt price include airport pickup?

A:  No, we do not. We recommend a vehicle rental, and give you easy to follow directions on newly paved highway from the airport to our lodge. Having your own vehicle gives you the freedom to leave early with your trophy buck, bear, or elk or explore our beautiful region while out of the hunting stand. 

 

Q: What happens if I shoot a buck that scores over 250+? 

A: This happens on occasion, and we will be thrilled for you !! There will be be no extra charge to you. No sliding price scales here! never have been, never will be!!

 

Q: Can I as a hunter shoot more than one buck?

A: Yes, additional bucks may be harvested upon availability, but it is best to inquire at the time of booking if your intention is to harvest more than one deer.

 

Q: Are rifles available at the lodge for use.

A: Yes, we have a couple good quality rifles with good optics

available for customer use. We charge a $100 Ammunition, cleaning and

maintenance fee.

 

Q: What is your success rate?

A: We have a 100% success rate for hunters seeing multiple bucks over 170+ on their hunts. We have had two or three hunters go home empty handed, usually the result of passing a big buck early in the first days hunt and waiting for him to return. To date we have never had an unsuccessful hunter not return. We have a very high rate of return clientel, and were pretty proud of it!!
